Comp Rules/Regulations

- The maximum allowed tire width will be 265. The minimum allowed tire treadwear will be 300

- Practice will consist of four 15 minute run groups with the final session being utilized as the qualifying session, judged using a jam style qualifying format.

- Drivers must complete solo runs during their qualifying session in order to provide a clear result for the judges.

- Drivers will be judged based on overall quality and consistency, with the goal of selecting the best 16 drivers capable of producing consistent and exciting lead runs for tandem.

- The primary scoring criteria will consist of an aggressive entry, heavy angle and throttle, minimal to no steering corrections, aggressive transitions, and overall speed and cohesiveness of the run. A feint entry may be utilized, consisting of one feint before the initiation. A double feint or manji on the straight will be scored as a zero.

- The course will consist of outer and inner zones. Zones will be used to determine score deductions. Drivers must enter, fill, and exit the zones completely in order to avoid receiving a deduction. Entering the zone late, leaving the zone early, or missing the zone completely will result in a large deduction equivalent of going off track. This will be determined by the rear tire (for outer zones) or front tire (for inner zones) and not by the bodywork.

- The top 16 drivers from qualifying will be randomly placed into a tandem bracket.

- Drivers are not allowed to return to the pits or change tires once the top 16 bracket begins.

- The starting line for tandem will utilize a setup corner. The lead car must drift the setup corner and follow the line delineated by cones. The chase driver may grip the setup corner and is free to use whatever line necessary to remain in close proximity.

- Tandem judging will focus heavily on the lead drivers ability to execute a committed lead run and fill the zones successfully. The chase will be scored secondary as related to the quality of the lead, with proximity being the most important factor.

- In the event that the judges are unable to come to a decision, a "one more time" may be called.

- In the event of a collision, fault will be assigned by the judges. If a car is involved in a collision that is deemed not their fault and is unable to continue, they will win the current battle but will not progress to the next battle.

-All judges calls are final.
